A Happy New Year!!

Project updates from July 2017 to January 2018

A Happy New Year to all our clients and Associates. The last six months of 2017 proved to be busy with 'follow on' work for a number of clients. Stonyhurst College commissioned a review of the potential to develop a number of outdoor activities optimising the Estate and existing uses. Activities included shooting/walking; angling (game and coarse); canoeing; and clay pigeon shooting. A number of these opportunities will be be pursued during 2018. At the end of 2017, a Business Plan based on the sports centre, tennis dome and outdoor sports facilities was also commissioned and this is now underway.

Additional work was also commissioned by the Stoller Charitable Trust, on behalf of the Mahdlo Centre, Oldham. This resulted from an earlier report prepared by TLC which examined the market opportunities for new leisure related development opportunities on sites adjacent to the Mahdlo Centre. Amongst the recvommendations from the report was the potential to develop new, specialist climbing and play facilities. A Business Plan based on the facilities mix was prepared confirming the financial potential of the project.

A new project based on the Heritage Lottery Fund 'Parks for People' saw TLC working closely with Arcadis and Wakefield Council on evaluating potentail development options for Clarence, Holmfield and Thornes Park - wih a paticular focus on new facilities that were likely to be financially sustainable, attracting new visitors to the Park and contributing to the overall visitor economy of the area.

2018 promises to be equally busy with work at Stonyhurst continuing, a study on accommodation and hospitality  underway in West Yorkshire and a new project in Northern Ireland recently commissioned.
