Catterick Garrison's new leisure centre opens
“On the Ground” – The new £21m leisure centre at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire has now opened.
Developed in partnership by Defence Estates, North Yorkshire County Council, The Leisure Consultancy prepared the Feasibility Study and Business Plan that underpinned the development. The Leisure Consultancy team worked closely with the project team and local community in developing a facility which catered for the needs of the nearby personnel, the Garrison community and the wider population. Located ‘outside the wire’ facilities include: a 6-lane 25m swimming pool; 2 learner pools; a 6-court sports hall; a 40-station health club; and an exercise studio as well as ‘housing’ the town’s new library.
