World Heritage Site Pontcysyllte
The consultant team led by ARUP has recently completed the preparation of a Masterplan and Feasibility Study for Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site on behalf of a consortium comprising: Wrexham County Borough Council, the Welsh Government, British Waterways, Denbighshire County Council and Shropshire Council. Our role focussed on the leisure and tourism aspects of the proposal, undertaking a comprehensive review of the tourist related facilities in the area, a review of Best Practice of other World Heritage sites and the preparation of a summary market and financial feasibility study for a Visitor Centre celebrating the rich heritage of the area.
