Destination Management Plans for Leigh Waterfront and Bingley 5 & 3 Rise Locks
In developing its 'public facing' role, the Canal & River Trust (C&RT) appointed TLC to prepare Destination Management Plans for two areas, namely, Leigh Waterfront (located close to Wigan) and Bingley 5 & 3 Rise Locks (located close to Bradford/Saltaire).
In preparing the Plans extensive consultation was undertaken with representatives of the C&RT, Borough Councils, agencies such as Sport England, local tourism/hospitality businesses, local voluntary groups, transport groups, education and health organisations.
Appreciating the tremendous assets that the canals and towpaths offer to both resident communities and visitors to the areas significant support for the concept and delivery of the Destination Management Plans was secured with 'roll out' anticipated in spring/summer 2016.
