The Leisure Consultancy in partnership with Groundwork create a 'centre of excellence' for Wythenshawe Park
The Leisure Consultancy in partnership with Groundwork, was appointed by Manchester City Council to undertake an appraisal of the potential to create a visitor hub based on the creation of a 'centre of excellence' for local food production and horticulture at Wythenshawe Park. Building on the existing horticultural/education centre together with the farm and walled garden and concious of the underutilised greenhouses, the opportunity to provide a visitor attraction servicing both the local community and also the wider catchment had been identified by the Council.
The Leisure Consultancy undertook responsibility for the market research, examining growth in key markets notably: leisure/day visits; horticulture/graden tourism; food and beverage as well as reviewing examples of good practice. Some focussed consultation was also undertaken with The Leisure Consultancy also reviewing the historic performance of the Park in respect of visitor numbers, revenue costs and the oevrall operation
